Wealth Trust Officer

Are YOU a detail-oriented financial or legal professional ready to elevate your career in wealth management? We are seeking a dynamic Trust Officer to manage a diverse and sophisticated portfolio of personal and pooled trust accounts.
In this role, YOU will do much more than manage paperwork—YOU will serve as a trusted advisor and vital bridge between beneficiaries, financial advisors, and wealth professionals. Operating within South Dakota’s highly favorable regulatory banking environment, YOU will protect, grow, and smoothly transition client legacies with the highest level of professionalism.
What You Will Do:
- Legacy Administration: Manage the day-to-day operations of a complex book of personal and pooled trust accounts, ensuring seamless asset and cash distributions.
- Relationship Management: Serve as the primary, professional point of contact for trust beneficiaries and financial advisors, balancing empathy with fiduciary duty.
- Compliance & Governance: Conduct annual account reviews in accordance with the South Dakota Division of Banking and prepare high-level presentations for Trust Committee evaluation.
- Tax & Checklist Oversight: Monitor the accurate completion of trust tax returns and execute robust account-opening and account-closing review checklists.
- Data Excellence: Maintain highly accurate client records and interaction histories within our corporate CRM database.
Job Requirements
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: 2+ years of proven success within financial services, wealth management, or a legal/paralegal environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical professional experience.
- Credentials: A JD, CTFA, or CFP certification is highly desirable and will fast-track your success.
- Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience utilizing CRM tools.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional written and verbal communication, razor-sharp attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and the sound judgment required to solve complex problems independently.
