Field Safety Coordinator
Job Description
Overview:
A well-respected heavy civil construction contractor is seeking a Field Safety Coordinator to support and strengthen its company-wide safety culture. This role plays a hands-on part in ensuring safe operations in the field, working closely with the Safety Director, field leadership, and crews to maintain and improve safety standards on active job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
-Actively support and promote the company’s safety, quality, and efficiency (SQE) mission.
-Collaborate with project teams and field staff to identify, assess, and control potential hazards.
-Participate in developing and implementing safety programs, policies, and training.
-Conduct site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks to reinforce compliance and awareness.
-Support incident investigations and assist in developing corrective actions.
-Provide impactful communication, coaching, and on-site presence to promote a proactive safety mindset.
-Contribute to safety planning for upcoming projects and ensure alignment with company standards.
-Travel to various project sites as needed.
Job Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
-5+ years of experience in construction safety or a similar safety role within civil construction.
-Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry safety standards.
-Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
-Positive, proactive, and team-oriented approach to safety.
-BCSP credentials or similar certifications a plus.

Hired in 2013, Mark Gawronski serves as the Director of Training and a Senior Employment Consultant for AllianceStaff. Mark started his career in recruiting immediately following his college career at UW-Whitewater where he graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism Advertising and participated on their nationally ranked football team. He is a high energy leader with a skill to connect and build relationships. His ultimate goal is to develop more of a partnership, where he is an extension to the search, both on the company and candidate side. Mark is CPC certified by the National Association of Personnel Services and also participates on the Board of Directors for our state association, Recruiters of Wisconsin.
Mark is a family man and loves spending quality time with his wife and three kids. In his free time, Mark enjoys playing golf, following his favorite sports teams (The Green Bay Packers and the Whitewater Warhawks) and doing DIY projects.
