Job Description

Are you eager to launch a rewarding career in commercial construction with a firm that genuinely invests in your future? Established in 1991, our client’s team operates on a foundation of integrity, client-first service, and a passion for excellence. They are looking for an ambitious, hands-on professional ready to learn the ropes of the design-build world within an environment that feels like a family but delivers like an industry leader.

They are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join their collaborative team on-site in the Slinger/Jackson area. This role serves as the first formal step on their Project Manager career path. YOU will work alongside experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, Architects, and Interior Designers who will train YOU in every phase of the design-build process. YOU will even manage smaller projects under the guidance of a PM mentor to help YOU build the skills needed to advance.

What You Will Do:

  • Bid Collection: Follow up with subcontractors to collect comprehensive bids and clarify scope coverage.
  • Documentation Management: Help organize, track, and maintain all project documentation using Procore.

Coordination & Change Management

  • Schedule Review: Review 4-week look-ahead schedules generated by the Field Superintendent.
  • Submittals & RFIs: Review submittals with guidance from your PM to ensure project accuracy.
  • Change Orders: Gather pricing and details for PCCOs (change orders) while updating and tracking the PCCO log.

Meetings & Communication

  • Collaboration: Participate actively in project kickoff meetings, PreCon meetings, and lessons-learned discussions.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Communicate clearly with PMs, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to keep projects moving forward.
  • Project Closeout: Support the final closeout process and assist in preparing official owner deliverables.

Job Requirements

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Prior experience in commercial construction or design-build is preferred, but we are highly open to training a fast, motivated learner.
  • Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read, understand, and interpret construction documents.
  • Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite is highly preferred.
  • Organizational Skills: A sharp eye for detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks, logs, and moving parts under deadline pressure.
  • Mindset: A proactive self-starter who takes initiative, asks smart questions, and is driven by the collective success of the team.

Additional Information

What They Offer

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive Medical (HSA-eligible option), Dental, Vision, Life/AD&D, and both Short-Term and Long-Term Disability insurance.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with a company percentage match.
  • Time Off: Paid vacation, sick time, standard holidays, and an Annual Incentive Plan.
  • Perks & Workspace: Onsite fitness center, wellness programs, fully stocked kitchen snacks, a company rec room, and corporate-branded swag.
  • Culture & Fun: Monthly cookouts/lunches, team bonding activities, company retreats, casual dress code, and occasional "bring-your-pet-to-work" days.
