Job Description
Our client is the largest fabricator in the state of Wisconsin and the second largest in the entire Midwest. They are rapidly growing and seeking a talented, hard-working Commercial Estimator to join their team. This position is unique in that they provide their employees with many opportunities to grow and advance in the company, cross-train, and get exposed to all aspects of the business.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Analyze new bid opportunities through review of project specifications & blueprints
- Prepare estimates based off material price, labor, and equipment/supply costs
- Review project details with department supervisor to ensure scope of work and interest
- Maintain and update company price lists, product details, and technical data
- Follow-up on awarded projects to ensure quotes match any extra work required from CAD drawings and/or change orders.
- May occasionally work on special projects or perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
The Ideal Candidate Would:
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to read and comprehend architectural drawings
- Have a knowledge of the construction industry including cabinetry and/or millwork
- Be able to measure accurately
- Have a very strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a timely manner towards the completion of each assigned job
- Enjoy problem solving in a fast-paced environment
- Be proficient in math
- Have excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Be comfortable with technology
- Be a team player who builds great working relationships
- Possess exceptional customer service skills
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Have an ability to calmly respond to complaints from clients
