Lead Architect

Job Description
We’re partnering with a growing land development and custom home design/build firm that's passionate about delivering one-of-a-kind homes that reflect the individual needs and style of each client. With a fully integrated team that includes licensed architects, interior designers, and seasoned construction professionals, this firm brings a highly collaborative and creative approach to each project — from land acquisition to final build.
They're looking to add a registered architect to serve as their Architectural Design Lead. This is a full-time, salaried role that offers a blend of creative direction, leadership, and hands-on architectural work. Ideal candidates will have experience in residential architecture, design/build environments, and team leadership. If you’ve managed client relationships, set architectural and drafting standards, and guided a team through the CD process — this could be a great fit.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead the design and architectural direction for high-end residential homes
- Oversee and mentor the internal drafting and architecture team
- Serve as the architecture process owner and champion for continuous improvement
- Develop and maintain company drafting standards and ensure consistent quality
- Interface with suppliers and vendors regarding material updates and education
- Own the schedule and quality of all construction documents (CDs)
- Support the pre-construction team with necessary documents and scheduling needs
Job Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- Registered Architect with a strong background in residential design
- Proven experience in residential architecture, preferably within a design/build firm
- Leadership and direct management of architecture/drafting professionals
- Strong AutoCAD or BIM software skills, along with Microsoft Office tools
- Clear, confident communicator who can manage clients and resolve issues
- Organized, efficient, and comfortable juggling multiple active design projects

Hired in 2013, Mark Gawronski serves as the Director of Training and a Senior Employment Consultant for AllianceStaff. Mark started his career in recruiting immediately following his college career at UW-Whitewater where he graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism Advertising and participated on their nationally ranked football team. He is a high energy leader with a skill to connect and build relationships. His ultimate goal is to develop more of a partnership, where he is an extension to the search, both on the company and candidate side. Mark is CPC certified by the National Association of Personnel Services and also participates on the Board of Directors for our state association, Recruiters of Wisconsin.
Mark is a family man and loves spending quality time with his wife and three kids. In his free time, Mark enjoys playing golf, following his favorite sports teams (The Green Bay Packers and the Whitewater Warhawks) and doing DIY projects.
